Return data, ready to use

GST data exports that give your CA clean figures in the format they want

Export your GSTR-1 as a JSON file ready to upload on the GST portal, or as Excel for your CA to check. GSTR-3B summaries, HSN summaries and purchase registers export the same way. The figures come straight from your bills, so nothing is retyped.

Why it matters

Your CA shouldn’t have to type your bills again

In many businesses, the month-end routine looks like this: the office prints a sales register, the CA’s team types the totals into their own sheet, and then into the GST portal. Every step is a chance for a typing mistake, and every mistake has to be found and fixed before the due date.

The GST portal accepts GSTR-1 data as a JSON file prepared in the government’s format. Most CAs also want Excel files they can check and work with.

Milaan ERP produces both from your bills. The GSTR-1 JSON covers B2B and B2C sales, credit and debit notes, exports, the HSN summary and the document summary. Excel reports give your CA the same figures in a form they can review, plus GSTR-3B summaries and purchase registers.

Before you export, the software checks for common problems like missing GSTINs or HSN codes, so you fix them at your end instead of on the portal.

Common problems

What goes wrong at month end, and how exports fix it

These are the issues CAs tell us they spend the most time on.

  • Figures typed by hand

Totals are copied from printouts into sheets and then into the portal.

    Exported from bills

Every figure comes from the bills themselves. Nothing is retyped.

  • Errors found on the portal

The JSON upload fails because a GSTIN or HSN code is wrong.

    Checked before export

Missing or invalid GSTINs, HSN codes and rates are flagged before you export.

  • Different numbers in different places

The sales register, GSTR-1 and books all show slightly different totals.

    One source for all

All reports come from the same bills, so the totals agree.

  • CA waits for data

The office doesn’t know which report the CA wants, and emails go back and forth.

    Formats your CA uses

Send JSON and Excel together, or give your CA a read-only login.

How it works

Month end in four steps

From last bill to data in your CA’s hands.

  1. Close the month 1st

All bills, notes and purchases for the month are entered as usual during the month.

  2. Run the checks 2nd

The software lists bills with missing GSTINs or HSN codes. Fix them in a few minutes.

  3. Export 3rd

Export the GSTR-1 JSON and Excel reports, plus the GSTR-3B summary and purchase register.

  4. Hand to your CA Before the 11th

Your CA reviews the Excel, uploads the JSON on the portal and files the return.

The rules in brief

How GSTR-1 data reaches the portal

GSTR-1 can be filled on the GST portal by hand, or uploaded as a JSON file in the government’s format, which is far quicker for anyone with more than a handful of bills. If you issue e-invoices, those invoices are already filled into GSTR-1 for you, and the rest is uploaded.

Monthly filers file GSTR-1 by the 11th of the next month. Small businesses in the QRMP scheme file quarterly by the 13th of the month after the quarter, and can upload B2B invoices monthly using the Invoice Furnishing Facility (IFF).

Tip: GST rules change from time to time. This page explains them in simple words; for advice on your own case, please speak to your CA.

  • JSON upload on the portalFaster than typing bills in.
  • E-invoices auto-filledOnly the rest needs uploading.
  • Monthly due date11th of the next month.
  • QRMP quarterly13th after the quarter, IFF optional.
  • Excel for reviewBefore anything is uploaded.

Talk to our team

We’ll show your CA how the exports look, using your own month.

Can I upload the JSON file directly on the GST portal?

Yes. The GSTR-1 JSON is prepared in the format the portal accepts. Upload it in the GSTR-1 section, check the summary and file.

What does the GSTR-1 JSON include?

B2B invoices, B2C large and small sales, credit and debit notes, exports, the HSN summary and the document summary.

Can I export Excel for my CA instead?

Yes. GSTR-1, GSTR-3B summaries, HSN summaries and purchase and sales registers can all be exported as Excel.

What if a bill has a missing GSTIN or HSN code?

The software lists such bills before export so you can fix them first.

Does it work for quarterly (QRMP) filers?

Yes. Choose a quarter for GSTR-1, or a month for IFF uploads of B2B invoices.

Can my CA download the data themselves?

Yes. Give your CA a read-only login so they can download any report without changing your data.
