GST return reminders that get the data ready before the due date arrives

A reminder is only useful if the data is ready when it arrives. Milaan ERP tracks your GSTR-1, GSTR-3B and annual return dates, reminds you on WhatsApp, and shows a short checklist of what still needs doing before you or your CA can file.

Why it matters

Late returns cost more than the late fee

Missing a GST due date means a late fee for every day of delay and interest on any tax paid late. But the bigger cost is often hidden: when you file GSTR-1 late, your customers can’t see their credit, and good customers start asking questions. File GSTR-3B late often enough, and your registration can be at risk.

Most late filings don’t happen because someone forgot the date. They happen because the data wasn’t ready: purchase bills not entered, supplier bills not reconciled, a few invoices with missing GSTINs.

Milaan ERP reminds you of the date and shows what is left to do. A GST calendar lists every return you file, based on whether you are a monthly filer or in the quarterly QRMP scheme. Before each date, you get a WhatsApp reminder and a checklist: bills with missing details, purchases not yet reconciled, notes not issued.

Your CA can get the same reminders, so everyone works to the same calendar.

How it works

A month of GST, without the last-minute rush

How reminders and checklists fit into a monthly filer’s month.

  1. Reminder 7th

You and your CA get a WhatsApp reminder that GSTR-1 is due on the 11th, with a list of three bills missing GSTINs.

  2. GSTR-1 filed 10th

The bills are fixed and the JSON is exported. Your CA files GSTR-1 a day early.

  3. Reconcile 15th

GSTR-2B is loaded and matched. Two supplier bills are missing, so they are held back.

  4. GSTR-3B filed 19th

The GSTR-3B summary is ready. Tax is paid and the return is filed before the 20th.

Due dates in brief

The usual GST due dates

Monthly filers: GSTR-1 by the 11th of the next month, and GSTR-3B by the 20th. Businesses in the QRMP scheme (turnover up to ₹5 crore) file GSTR-1 quarterly by the 13th after the quarter, can upload B2B bills monthly by the 13th through IFF, pay tax monthly by the 25th using PMT-06, and file GSTR-3B by the 22nd or 24th after the quarter, depending on their state.

The annual return GSTR-9 is due by 31 December after the year ends. Late fees run per day of delay, and interest is charged at 18% a year on tax paid late. Returns can no longer be filed once three years have passed from their due date. The government sometimes extends dates, so always check for notifications.

Talk to our team

Tell us if you file monthly or quarterly, and we’ll set up your GST calendar.

When is GSTR-1 due?

By the 11th of the next month for monthly filers. QRMP filers file quarterly by the 13th of the month after the quarter.

When is GSTR-3B due?

By the 20th of the next month for monthly filers. QRMP filers file by the 22nd or 24th of the month after the quarter, depending on their state.

What is the QRMP scheme?

A scheme for businesses with turnover up to ₹5 crore to file returns quarterly while paying tax monthly. B2B invoices can be uploaded monthly through IFF so customers get their credit on time.

What happens if I file late?

A late fee is charged per day of delay, and interest at 18% a year is charged on tax paid late. Repeated non-filing can lead to cancellation of registration.

Can I file a return after a very long delay?

Returns can no longer be filed once three years have passed from their due date, so it is important not to let returns pile up.

Who gets the reminders?

You choose. Usually the owner, the accountant and the CA.
